As if it wasn't bad enough we have our credit card information, social security, and basically identity stolen through the internet. Now we have to worry about our lives. The Craigslist Killer, or i should say killers, have killed 8 people maybe more. Now another person has killed someone using Craigslist Source. Craigslist is a website where people go and buy, sell, find jobs, and many more things. But people have been taken advantage of before. Someone will make a post selling such and such, and then someone talks to them and will buy that item. Only to find out that they have been ripped off by some person.
Places like Craigslist, eBay, and other sites where people can buy things, depend on people being decent humans. Yet as we grow up we know that not all people are like that, and where good people excist so do bad people. I hate trying to sound biblical, but it is true. Good can't excists without evil, because human nature comes into play. We become jealous or greedy and end up doing bad things.
What i don't understand is why the police is going after the CEO and Brains behind Craigslist. All they did was build a place where people can buy and sell things. Craigslist has no more than 30 employees at their HQ.
I can understand families wanting justice for their loved ones, and the people committing these crimes are getting what they deserve. But we know even in real life people are not who they say they are sometimes. That should go double over the internet.
I tell everyone in my family who started to use the computer these frew basic rules.
Don't trust anyone.
Don't open email from people you don't know.
Don't hit accept or yes or anything on pop ups, even if the freaken president sent you one.
And always be careful when you use your credit card to buy things from other people on eBay, Amazon.
The great thing about sites like eBay and Amazon is people have comments and the users are required to put in their information before being able to sell. Not only that, but users can rate that person and the more things you sell and are trustworthy the more people will buy from you.
